About Hearthwild

A story world built for bedtime.

The characters of Evergreen Valley

The World of Hearthwild

Hearthwild is a universe of anthropomorphic animals living in a world rooted in the natural. Evergreen Valley is one community within it — a forest settlement built around rivers, great trees, and ancient gathering places.

The valley has a mystery at its heart: an old bridge in ruins, more Drifters than there used to be, and a wise owl keeping her lamp burning every night for reasons she hasn't fully explained.

What Makes Hearthwild Different

Most children's bedtime content is built around a single story or a single technique. Hearthwild is built around a complete world — with characters who grow, relationships that deepen, and a mystery that develops across seasons.

Each episode is 35 minutes of original storytelling, followed by a wind-down sequence designed with sleep neuroscience in mind: tapping, peripheral vision relaxation, gratitude, and gentle affirmations. Then a lullaby interlude.

The Faith Foundation

Hearthwild is built on Open Theism — the theological framework that sees God as a relational partner rather than a distant controller. In Evergreen Valley, God gave each animal a gift not as a guaranteed power, but as an invitation. What you do with it matters.

The faith integration is never preachy. It emerges through story — through characters learning what their gifts are really for, through prayers that sound like conversations, and through a world that takes seriously the idea that your choices matter.
